FRIEND OR FOE

On this journey in life I have gained some friends and I have lost some friends. Some I wish I had never met and some I simply hope never leave. I have often heard people say you can tell where a person is going or what kind of person you are dealing with by the friends that surround them. If this is true I really think we should be very wise about who we call a friend.

The best way I have found to distinguish a friend from a foe is my life guide for living. Of course for me its the bible and it always has some insight into any situation you are dealing with in life. The bible gave a clear characteristic of a friend. It says" a friend loves at all times". How can someone say that their your friend if they don't love you. A real friend can love you when you broke busted and disgusted.  A real friend can let you ride shotgun when you don't have the fresh fade or or new J's. A real friend doesn't care if you don't have the same opinions or agree with them on every matter in life.

As I look back over my life I wish I had made what the bible said" surety of my friend" or would have been for certain this was a genuine friend. Life is too short for fake people in our lives. Either you are a friend or you faking it. If you faking it I will say one thing fall back so I can get to real friends that will love me for me.

  1. I love this! I'm the type of person that once I call you friend I am in it for real. I have had to deal with people who would know a real friend if they poked them on the noise! Some measure it by what do you bring to the table and not to say you should allow people to take advantage of you, but my financial state shouldn't determine our friendship. No wonder my circle of "real" friends is small! Lol! Real friendship is a two way street! If you look around and you are the only one on the street then there is a problem!
