Is There Not A Cause

Driving down the street
Walking through the stores
I can feel a million eyes looking at me
Cold eyes
Aimless eyes with no direction and its killing me cause it used to be me

A young black male eyes shady with weed smoke
Education lacking
An I can't die attitude

So instead of just letting that young man pass me by I decided to make a difference. Can I lie and say I have a platform of millions of young men to speak to everyday. No!!! What I can say is I take value in reaching just one in the crowd who can reach the crowd that maybe I can't. We are relying on teachers who are frustrated themselves to raise our kids. Every coach isn't Coach Carter and the military isn't the answer for every young man with authority issues. Its often said that people are a product of their enviroment so I highly recommend that we take our young black men up and challenge them giving them the skills to succeed. Don't turn a def ear to the kid cussing. Don't be so quick to turn your nose down on the one tatted up and down. Who knows what kind of impact you could have on someone? I leave you with this. Be concerned, be genuine, and recognize the value in giving than receiving.....

Hoop Dreamer (Poem)

Driving down the lane with fiery leaping with gust of wind following my shoes
Hanging on the rim as a hopeless defender feels the blues
I can Kobe shake and bake D-Wade spin and grin
But tell me why is all this talent wasted from one end of the rim to the next end

Thought I could shoot jumpers
Pretty floating runners
Thought academics being smart had no honor

Cause everybody told me I would make it
Had me thinking I was the greatest
So I had that me attitude
Pick me on your team or you lose
In highschool for sports not school
And I never even care when the team takes a pounding and lose

Long as that scout is in the stands
He came to see me man
He likes how I drain 3's
How I can command double teams from the D
How I have all the talent A-Z

It was all academic but I didn't get it
Every bucket I scored didn't mean I was winning
Graduation is here and the sport I loved seems senseless

The court now is in hindsight
Season is over and no college teams gave a  bite
Now its useless Jumpers, Freethrows and Dunks just to feel my appetite

Ain't No Stopping Me

Well after years, months, days, hours, and seconds of long hard work. The time has finally come. For many years I worked diligently to empower myself in the entertainment industry. Some days were good and some days were bad. I experienced many doors closed in my face and yet also much favor. Yet finally I am so happy to say my company is incorporated. I hope now when you see me you can also see the brand that I stand for which is PEN-A-FLAME Entertainment Inc. I am so proud to say today was the official day it all came together under one umbrella. I want to thank all my family Drains, Edwards, Millers and close friends who helped me to achieve this moment in my life. I see big things in the immediate future and in the long term. I ask that you all pray for me because I don't have just a company but a brand that will be used to make a positive impact in the lives of youth and young adults all across the globe.
